# Tagging users, groups, and items

Mentions connect people and related content without duplicating information. They are available in message composers and formatted Notes where supported.

## Mention a person or User Group

1. Place the cursor in the editor.
2. Type **@** or select the mention action.
3. Search for an eligible person or User Group.
4. Select the result and finish the message or Note.

Mentioned people receive the available notification only if they can access the parent content. The list adapts to the Model, Conversation, Chat, visibility setting, and your own permissions.

For a Viewer in a Model or Conversation, enable Viewer visibility before using the mention when required. A mention never grants access by itself.

## Mention a Model, Conversation, file, or Note

1. Type **#** in a supported editor.
2. Search for the related item.
3. Select it from the results.

The mention becomes a navigable reference. Available result types can include Models, Conversations, files, and Notes. Each reader must still have permission to open the destination.

## Mentions in translated text

When you translate a draft with Fashionupdater, supported mentions remain connected to their original targets. Review the translated text before sending to confirm that the surrounding wording is correct.
